Begin by lying flat on your stomach.  Contract the lower lumbar muscles to slightly lift your chest off the floor.  While holding the core muscles (low back, abdominals, and obliques) in a contracted state, slowly lift your left arm and right leg about 12" off the ground and hold for 1 second.  Slowly return your arm and leg to the floor while maintaining the core contraction.

Repeate the same procedure for the right arm and left leg.  Perform as many and as often as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
